Radiology

An important part of the horse industry in Kentucky is thoroughbred racing. Horses and racing play a large role in the economy and provide a living for many Kentuckians. As any horse breeder knows, a crucial part of a racehorse’s journey is the point that they walk through the sales pavilion. The soundness of the horse as determined by a veterinarian weighs heavily on the process of the sale.

We are equipped to take complete sets of radiographs for repository use and perform upper airway endoscopy for the purpose of pre-sale examinations.

Reproduction

In the Kentucky horse industry, thoroughbred breeding is as import as thoroughbred racing. Detailed and regimented assessments of a mare’s cycle are necessary to optimize breeding success. Upon foaling, both mares and foals are cared for to ensure the investment made by their owners is both sound and secure.

Foaling and breeding season keep us busy. Thoroughbred reproductive work makes up a large percentage of our practice and we are there to assess and perform the procedures necessary for safe and successful breeding and foaling.

Customized Care

We recognize that every horse and every owner is different from the next. Horses especially possess unique qualities that, if considered by the practitioner, may affect treatment outcomes. We strive to know our patients and our clients. Treating a horse does not stop when the bandage is secured; it is a continuous process that involves communication, working together with owners, managers and farmhands, and following-up for the best interest of the horse.
